Mike Cummings is a father, grandfather, neighbor, friend, volunteer, and retired Chicago Police Officer with 35 years of service to our city. Mike’s three children and six grandchildren all live in the 19th Ward. He is a graduate of Queen of Martyrs, Brother Rice High School, and St. Xavier University, with a degree in Business.

Mike retired from the Chicago Police Department in November 2021. He has served as a Patrolman, Detective, and Sergeant. During Mike’s 35 years of service, he has mentored both Police Officers and Detectives. Mike was well respected as a police officer and has displayed an enormous amount of leadership throughout his career.

Mike looks forward to bringing the same energy and commitment as he displayed as a Police Officer to the role of Alderperson.
